    Hi,
    Intel produced a motherboard which had an issue in the chip,i want to know if the motherboard in the laptop i have is one of these with the issue OR the fixed one?.And what to do if it is the faulty one?.thanks

    I believe the faulty chips were in the L701X models which is why they changed the model number to L702X so fast. If you get a L702X you should be fine.

    The faulty chip was nick named cougar point I think.

    You could download HWinfo and this will tell you what MB you have(also everything else thats in your XPS).My Motherboard Chipset(XPS 17 L702x) is:Intel HM67 (Cougar Point) [B3].This is the revised MB.
