I'm not sure if this works, but I'm trying to play movies on my laptop and want it to display on my TV with the S-Video to A/V wire. The way I have it set up is using a conversion wire ( http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41XRB1X7BQL._SL500_AA280_.jpg) to my S-Video port. So one end goes to my laptop (S-video) and the other end goes to my TV input (yellow end). For some reason it does not display. Any ideas?

You have to use fn+whatever key is used on dell to switch the display output otherwise the port is inactive...
