Ok so after having this computer for about 5 weeks I'm noticing scratches on the lid which I'm finding to be very upsetting because it's ruining the appearance of the computer. One thing I dislike now about an aluminum laptop is instead of being a fingerprint magnet this thing is going to draw scratches like nobodies business. So I'm wondering what people are doing or might suggest to protect the lid of the computer?

I tried to be careful with my Latitude 13 (now sold). I babied it and it still got a whole bunch of scratches. Unless you want to get one of those sticker protectors, I don't think there is much you can do. Plus with those stickers, they leave a nasty residue which can be almost as bad as scratches. Also had that issue with my Latitude E6400/E6410, and all Macbook Pro's have that issue, or any laptops with an aluminum body.

But once it's scratched up, then I just stopped caring.

*sigh* I was afraid of this, what about a plastic case that attaches to the screen?

The Macbook Pro ones work but cost like 50 bucks for a plastic shell. I haven't seen any specific to Latitudes sold by a major brand. Try it out and let us know.
