Every time I restart the laptop, it is always on the brightest setting. This is annoying because that setting is very bright, and if I ever forget to change it, i'll be wasting power.

So I end up making the screen less bright every time. Is there anyway to have the laptop save the brightness settings?

Just change the default brightness of the power plan you're using in power options.

No need to do that, control panel -> power options.

I have 8/8 when plugged in and 4/8 for battery on my m1330.
