This is what I plan to do when I get my new XPS M1530.

Usually I don't like having all these programs like 3D mark, and various overclocking tools but I will install them all when I first get it.

    1. I will check what the maximum overclock I can get and which drivers work best.

    2. Then I will reformat the entire thing deleting Media Direct and Dell Diagnostics.

    3. Then With my flash drive I will put on the best drivers and the best overclocking utility.

    4. Then I will make a system restore point and then stop system restore making anymore (if that is possible).

Then I am good to go!

Yeah I forgot to mention that. Probably put that stuff on before the system restore thing.

I'll also need to remap the media direct button.

Make the Media Direct button go to Windows Media Center (if possible)...that's what I would probably do. Or maybe just WMP11.

Does Vista come with Media Center as default? I don't have it on XP...

I'll probably map it to VLC or Firefox(If there isn't already an internet button on the keyboard)

Home Premium comes with Media Center. Ultimate does also. So yes you'll have Media Center.
