Has anyone installed a hybrid disk drive? I just can't justify spending money on an SSD. I want to purchase a 500 GB hybrid. Does the hybrid show any real improvement over the stock Seagate drives that come in the L702X?

Yes. I use a 250GB hybrid drive in my XPS17, and the difference is noticable. I would recommend getting one.

It has been shown in benchmarks that the SSD Hybrid drive makes a difference, but in the 2 that I have owned, I saw NO difference between a normal mechanical drive and the SSD Hybrid drive. Plus mechanical drives are still prone to mechanical failure while SSDs are not.
