Just have t share it with you guys. i 've got mine now for nearly 4 weeks:
    No screenbleeding
    No uneven edges or gaps
    No bumps in my keyboard
    No paintjob issues (Black)
After my own tweaked install no driver issues or lock-ups
Even Sleep/Hibernate is now working properly
    Turbo Memory is working properly
My screen is perfect (nice even spread of light)

For the delay time i got a nice Fingerprint scanner and my drive upgraded from 5400rpm to 7200rpm (160GB)

The only flaw so far is not being able to drive anything higher than 1280 * 800 on an external display.

    But overall: Well Done Dell!!!

I thought after all the startup issues we should tell them when things go well as well!

If you use HDMI, it will default to 1650 x 1050 on the Dell 22"

yeah, i need to find a different panel to drive it on there. it defaults to 1280 * 800 on my 3007HCwfp. This weekend i will try my brothers 24" see what that one does..... as long as i know what's causing the issue, i am happy.

Glad some peoples is defect free. In terms of screen resolution, i have always used 1600x1200 then bought a laptop which was 1400x900 (dell 640m) and sold it after 3 weeks as i was not happy with it.

Now funnily enough, i bought the dell xps m1330 which has 1280x800. I find the laptop perfect and the screen resolution is fine. i cant even use my 1600x1200 anymore as i find it too small for me eyes now.

8600m would even be better :)

But then again you would face thermal issues...

I can drive my LCD at 1280x1024 at the same time as my 1280x800 LED display. Why can't you?

I'm glad to see you are happy with your M1330. I've never seen so many people griping about keyboards and dvd drive noise and so many other things. I'm happy with my M1330 but I still haven't gotten the 9 cell battery I ordered almost 20 days ago.

I was thinking about getting the 22" Samsung LCD. Which LCD would you recommend for use with the M1330? I'm thinking of getting my wife the 1420, so I would like an LCD that would accommodate both, I guess having HDMI/DVI as well as regular VGA inputs...

Did I correctly read that I can use the three inputs on the front of the M1330 to use my 5.1 surround speakers?

yes you can. For a LCD i am not sure what would currently be the best pick.
I guess anything around 19/22" would work.

Question for you... After you re-installed Vista...which Nvidia drivers are you using that allow SLEEP to work...?

i am using the 156.64 at the moment. When i close the lid of the notebook the screen goes of and everything spins down and the powerled on the front starts to flicker. Once this light flickers sleep mode is completed. In the first hour when i open the lid, my Vista loon screen comes on directly. If i wait longer than 1 hour i need to press the powerbutton first where then the logonscreen comes up after about 10sec....

so i suppose the first mode is "sleep" and the 2nd mode is "deep sleep" or " hibernation" ?

So my 2407HC-wfp arrived last Wednesday. I'm also running Forceware 156.66 since monday. The results?

When lid is open: dual display (1280 * 800 and 1920 * 1200 via HDMI)
When i close the lid, when using poweradapter, the system switches automatically to external display only, when opening the lid again, it switches back to dual display without any glitches

When on battery, closing the lid puts the XPS-M1330 to sleep and eventually after 20mins into hibernation (yes it works!). When opening the lid, all screens (if connected) restore to the appropiate settings.

My Logitech cordless Laser desktop is connected by Bluetooth and does roam automatically when the system is in reach (via the Dell BT module, not the Logitech USB dongle)

Damnnnn i am HAPPY. My system is now just PERFECT. The only downside is the relatively poor performance of the 8400M-gs, but then again i've given up gaming on this thing last week.

So basically EVERYTHING works...... (almost start to feel bored now :D )

You should also find that once properly configured the notebook will 'sense' the external monitor and switch between 'singular' and 'dual' screen modes dependant on whether or not it is plugged in. (During Boot.) Another brilliant little time saver. :)

Just found that out myself (had no need to reboot my system duing the last 5 days :D )

Als just installed the Logitech SetPoint for Bleutooth SW, now all functions on the MX5000 work and when those functions are covered by Dell Quickset as well, it nicely shows the Quickset OSD.

I've mapped my Mediabuttons on the MX5000 to my NAS Shares. This is just awesome. Basically turned my XPS-M1330 into a highend desktop.

Only 2 tihngs left now: OCZ 4GB kit and T7500 processor

Lucky you, my BenQ FP241W goes into 1080p mode (1920x1080) with HDMI but the image gets chopped (even though I have 1:1 and not interpolation). Seems to be the visual result of cropping a 16:10 image into 16:9...

When connected via VGA, the M1330 will drive my FP241W up to it's native 1920x1200 when in extended desktop mode; When in clone mode, the monitor complains that 1280x800 is not a valid resolution & defaults to 1024x768, again unable to reproduce a 1:1 copy :-(

So you have good grounds to be happy :)

    And yes I have :D

Though i needed to shell out an additional € 700 and have a brandnew 3007wfpHC doing nothing.

I crapped my system today by installing SP1 beta. So a complete fresh install was required. good news what that i saved all the drivers i've used and tested in the pas month, so i was able to directly populate the most optimum driver set, without going through older versions etc. No my setup is almost completed again.I am thinking of running an backup image to my NAS, what would be a good tool for that?

    Hi Guys,

I'm about to buy a top of the range one of these.

    I've currently got a system with a 2.4Ghz C2D 6600, 4GB RAM, 8800GTS 640mb.

I want to get rid of it as its a waste of space since getting an xbox 360. I'm soon to start managing an IT company and I want a system which will do me well. I want a laptop which I can play the odd game on, run a 22" and 19" dell screen off (dual display) & run a bluetooth keyboard & mouse off, whilst being able to take it with me in my briefcase.

I've bought quite a few of the M1330's in for customers and have always been very tempted to get one.

I'd be likely to go down the T7500 Processor (2.2GHz,800MHz,4MB L2 cache) with 4gb RAM, 250gb drive.

Would I be able to run dual display from this laptop? I.E with the analogue and HDMI?

Does it have bluetooth built into it?

How capable is it of playing the odd game?

I'd also be buying the Logitech Z-5500 Digital speakers - does it have good sound output?

Your advise would be much appreciated.

    :D Will
