I bought my xps 1640 from USA and got it replaced in EGYPT with L502X.........

Hi every one,
I wanted to share my story with all of you just to tell any one who wants to replace his laptop ((( DO NOT GIVE UP )))

i will try to short the story,it has been 8 months now fighting with dell to have my laptop replaced.

i bought my Studio XPS 1640 fron new york on 20 Sep 2009 and i came back to my country EGYPT,then i faced some problems with this laptop like overheating,hangs and throttling,

so,i called dell in egypt to fix it,they are really stupid people.all what they can do is wasting time and by the way they do not know anything about the throttling issue

after 2 weeks of contacting them in Sep 2010,they told me that they will replace 8 PARTS .....

I told them ,NO,it is too much and you have to replace my laptop,they laughed at me telling me that ((( Sir,we do not replace a laptop in EGYPT and forget that you bought a laptop from USA and want to have it replaced here )))


Then on 17 Sep 2010 i contaced Michael dell telling him all the story...after 2 days Third level technician called me and told me that ((( FOR THE FIRST TIME IN DELL HISTORY,I HAD A DIRECT ORDER TO REPLACE A LAPTOP IN ANOTHER COUNTRY AND WITHOUT ANY PARTS REPLACEMENTS )))


And he told me this process may take months to be accomplished.

AFTER 8 MONTHS OF CONTACTING DELL​

My Brand New L502X was shipped from ENGLAND yesterday by UPS and the tracking shows it will be delivered HERE in EGYPT to My house on 16 April 2011

Honestly,during the whole 8 months i did not believe that dell will replace my laptop till i recivied the configration of the new system on 29 March 2011.I am really happy

I think we need to stand firm on our principles and never call it quit. It takes time and effort to send a message out to those people who are in capable hands of solving one's problem in the end. Congratulations!

 

Its just the shipping from England part. Everyone from Europe that ordered the L502 got it shipped from China via Korea and such.
If it is true well done persistance is a virtue in this case.
