After doing some research it looks like a well equipped M1330 is going to be up there.

Can you give me a little more insight. I was debating getting a 1210 or waiting on the 1330. If it is over well over $2000 then I will get the 1210.

He's talking about solid state drives and LED.

Don't we already have a thread about this?

In that case, why not just buy the Sony SZ Premium?

Wait... You really think the sz would be better than the M1330?

    Let's do benchmarks ...

It seems that this machine would go after some buyers who would be considering the MacBooks (esp. the sleek black model). Making this notebook double the price of the macbook probably wouldn't be wise. On the other hand, it does have some higher-end features that would make it more costly, but I'd say less than $2100

Judging by notebooks already in the market, an LED backlight adds $50 or less to the price. Of course, SSD prices are still insane. Minus the SSD and discrete graphics, I could see a well equipped M1330 going for under $1500. That would keep it competitive with the Macbook, T61, and other well built smallish laptops.

If the notebook is up around $2500, they will still most likely have the XPS M1210 still on sale, I will get the M1210 right away, and forget about the new model, which would be a shame, but just too expensive for my taste.

Numerous blogs and some people that "would know" based on past releases.

yes it does, for a while now.

I agree, a well spec'd one will be over $2000. I would get a good deal on the m1210 if you have a sub $1500 pricepoint
