I had to send my laptop, specs in sig, to the depot to be fixed after a technician, who was helpful, replaced the motherboard and hard drive but did not fix the problem. A month+ later (a part, the hard drive, was supposedly on order) I just got my laptop back today. The computer looks good but I was checking to make sure I got it back with all the hardware I originally had. Everything looks good except I don't see anywhere it tells me if the screen is RGB. Device manager and dxdiag tell me it is 1920x1080 but just labels it as a generic pnp monitor. The colors look like it's the RGB screen but I wanted to check for sure.

When I first got my laptop, I got it with the 3670 gpu. Now it says I have a 4670. This works for me, but is it possible the device manager/ dxdiag is wrong?

So to sum it all up...
    1. How do I tell for sure the monitor is RGB?
    2. Is it possible that device manager/dxdiag is displaying the wrong info about the gpu?

If you want to check your GPU run CPUz. It will tell you whats on your mobo. It's possible the new mobo is using an upgraded GPU.

You were on the right track but missed it. Go back to device manager, right click on the "generic pnp monitor" that is under monitors and click properties. Go to the details tab.

On the drop down box select hardware ids. If it says "MONITOR\SEC5448" then you have the RGBLED.

Thanks! It does say MONITOR\SEC5448 so that's good. CPUID also confirms I was 'upgraded' to the 4670 so I'll have to see how the performance differs when I fire a game up.
The GPU upgrade almost makes it okay that it took a month to get back.
Although, I don't seem to be able to eject a cd. It took it in okay but the button doesn't eject it. Might be a driver issue. I'll have to look at that next

I can eject a disc via right clicking through My Computer but the button doesn't do anything.
It says the driver is up to date, any suggestions?

Bingo, that's what I would check and install if necessary.

    Reinstalling the quickset worked perfectly!
    Thanks!
