One thing I miss going from a Inspiron 6000 to a M1530 is the onscreen volume meter bar when you press the louder and softer volume buttons on the Media Bar. On my Inspiron 6000, a gui bar pops up when you adjust the volume using the media bar buttons to let you know exactly where your volume is set at. I don't even know when to stop pressing the volume up button because I don't know when the volume is maxed out on my M1530. Anybody know of a way to make the onscreen volume meter return?

Do you have quickset installed?

If you have a problem with Quickset, download Microsoft Intellitype Pro. It works with anything and has a very nice compact GUI bar.

I installed Intellitype but I don't know which model to choose. I randomly chose like 5 but none of them work. Can you please tell me which model you chose to configure the keys.

If you guys use windows sidebar then download "VolumeGadget" gadget. Thats what i use, and love.

After some expirimenting, I've found that if you choose "Wireless Photo Keyboard" in Intellitype, you can customize the Dell MediaHome button (in IntelliType it's the "Library" key). Otherwise, pressing it will attempt to open Microsoft's photo editing software and give you an error if it's not installed. I have it opening Vista Media Center.
