I own an M1330 and last week my Motherboard Fried. I had it replaced and now my laptop seems To heat up pretty quick. Before i could watch an hour of video before the machine started getting hot but now after only 20-30 min the laptop heats up so bad that it turns off by itself! its also Worse while the AC is connectd.
Im no computer weez but the main difference i noticed was that my current bios Revision is A08 and the one before that was an A07.

Can somebody please shed some light on this?

That sounds about right for an XPS. Have you tried looking for a new bios update? Do you have the defected nivida chip in your system? They have a new update driver for the defected chips

It is A12 so you are a little behind the curve.

take off the large removable panel on the back (4 screws) and make sure the heatsink fan is plugged in and running.
