When I brought my laptop to library, my friends asked me why I bought a school's public laptops

They thought it's identical to D630(which are for public use in our school)
Same thickness, same color, same logo........beside my xps 14 has a XPS logo on the back.

I think dell will continue loseing lots of customers from HP envy's
I hope dell will bring back or hire some better desginers to build some gorgeous' laptops

Yeah, I mean, what is best? A machine that is gorgeous but has kind of weak performance compared to other notebooks? Or a machine that is not to everyone's liking but still rocks your socks off in terms of performance?

    Personally, I prefer the second.

envy 14 has almost all balanced, I just ordered one but have to see how its thermal desgin. I hate a laptop runs loud, like envy 15, SXPS 16<---this one is rocket

I think XPS 14 has pretty well thermal desgin compared to my old SXPS 16 which is over over over heating.

I wish dell could bring back SXPS 16 case's desgin with XPS 14 thermal desgin.

I agree on the outside, it does look a little bland. But once you flip the lid I think its quite a nice looking machine, specially with the backlit keyboard. Im very happy I chose the xps 15, and the sound system on it is really nice.
You can always skin it. Im thinking of a diamond plate skin in the future.

Who said Dell quit the gorgeous notebook market? The Adamo is pretty sophisticated. I also have poor man's Adamo, my Latitude 13! If you are talking about Dell's shiny notebooks that are ugly, good thing they killed Studio/SXPS, good riddance!

I am sorry, but I have one of those "ugly" notebooks..and I rather like mine. It's been a good lappy other than a few minor prob's (that were easily fixed). Personal choice, always... : )

I would love to see Dell bring back something in the SXPS line with some improvements.

When I came home one day, I saw an ugly black Dell Studio sitting on my dad's desk. I watched in horror. It's hideous.

Yeah Dell could improve the Studio XPS...by killing it! The new XPS line looks promising but if I bought one, I would buy that 3 year warranty. Time and time again, XPS line has always looked promising and ended up a huge failure.

    Like I said personal choice. : )
My favorite out of the line was the 1530 (less the GPU problems). The SXPS line is pretty much dead, just only being sold in the Outlet now.

I would always add a 3 year warranty on my lappy. (For me, it's something that is cheaper at purchase & woks well in the long run).

I've had a few Studios so I may be biased, but I really like them.

The new XPS line however, I am not sure what Dell was thinking there.

If you're referring to the SXPS 16, yeah that thing was UH-GLEE and it looked cheap too. :p

The only thing I wish is that Dell got back to it's roots and allowed for full customization instead of these packaged upgrades. I hate that. Just a couple of years ago you could customize just about anything on just about any of their laptops.

Nah my dad has the Studio 1558 Chainlink Black. SXPS look professional but the glossy crap completely turns me away.

I don't mind the M1530 minus the Nvidia GPU problems but the hinge is ugly, and it's incredibly fat along the backside just like the M1330. I actually like the XPS 1210 better than the M1330.

I think the XPS line is very good looking. They took elements from the Latitudes but went off in a different direction. Just my opinion on it.

Yea it stinks, when I ordered my 17, there was no choice for Design Studio. But I agree I'd always choose function over form.

Funny thing about that personal preference thing. I love the look of Macbooks and the Studio XPS 1645/47. I also think the laptops you've mentioned and have listed in your signature look pretty atrocious/bland. This is nothing personal against you, just personal preferences.
