You have to do it properly and I know its kinda difficult first time... but me I never had a major problem after that tutorial kind of thing or didn't have to like 23 times to get a good one.... be patient and try again.. U'll soon get it all right for sure. Cheers n good luck.

yes, as sesshomaru said, I figured out the most important thing is "slow and steady"..... a constant motion while swiping your finger...

Between my index and middle finger swipes, my middle finger swipes get recognized more. Maybe I have more practice using it!

The tutorial doesn't teach you jack, here's the trick......

Start off with putting the middle part of your finger on the scanner, (top section of your finger), then swipe all the way up until you hit the end point of your nail, (you'll have to curve your finger, unlike the tutorial video) and you should be able to get a good scan everytime.

Which version of the software are you running? The most recent one (5.8) made the recognition VERY easy. If you are running 5.6, I would recommend upgrading to 5.8. Your life would be easier and your fingertips will thank you :D

i second this, the best thing to do is to press your finger from the joint up until the nail, swipe it and see...
