Hey all, a friend of mine just bought herself an Alienware M17 and she is giving me her old Dell XPS m1710. Here are the specs:

    Windows 7 64 bit
    Intel Core2 T7200 @ 2.00GHz
    4GB RAM
    320GB HDD
NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS 256MB

I've done searches to see if anyone has played any current games on the graphics card in this laptop but was unsuccessful, probably due to the age of the card (2006-2007??)

Can anyone with personal experience with this laptop tell me how games like GTA IV, Dragon age, Batman Arkham Asylum and Mass Effect 2 ( current favorites) run on this? I'm not a super framerate or graphics . If I can run a game on low and still get 25-30 FPS, I'd be happy.

    Thanks guys!

I have a Vostro 1700 with the same CPU, same amount of memory and a better GPU (8600m GT). I can only achieve low to mid settings with those games that's if you want smooth frame rates. I ended up going with the Xbox 360 version for all of those games. But if you are not that picky about high framerates you can push the graphics a little higher.

I have a m1710 with 7950 gtx and it runs batman and mass effect 2 just fine at medium graphics, decent resolutions, and good frame rates. You won't be able to max out the graphics, but with a bit of tweaking around the settings you should be able to find a good compromise between the three.
