You probably stripped a screw. Find the largest sized screw driver that will fit and try to unscrew it. You can find tool kits that will deal with stripped screws for ~10 USD.

I mean did YOU strip it or did it come like that? Sometimes Dell won't mind, but if is clearly user damaged they might have something to say.

Once you get the backplate open, you'll see that those screws are pretty standard and they are held there by 'stoppers' which I think you can remove, allowing you to replace the used screws.

Google Ohow to remove a stripped screw" and follow the guides. There's tools called screw extractors and tips on using abrasive material to get a better grip.

Regarding your warranty, it shouldn't be effected by it. Dell will usually offer replacement screws if told about it as well, there's probably no need to go into the details about it because screws are prone to strip and wear out during normal use, especially when they are too tight to begin with or difficult to remove for some other reason. It happens all the time and support is more worried about keeping access to your system and making sure everything is properly secured.

You have nothing to worry about. If you really feel the need to say anything at all, just tell them that you regularly open the bottom panel of the laptop to clean out the fan with compressed air.

And after you get this resolved. Go invest in a proper screw driver kit :)
