Hey isn't that the point of a laptop? lol I'd charge the battery and keep it stored in a cool place though

From what I've heard, you should charge the battery to 40% then remove it.

Has anyone actually put their battery in a refrigerator or known anyone who has? I don't think I could entrust Ziploc with a $150 battery lol

You don't really need to put it in the fridge just charge it to about halfway, remove it from your laptop and put in whichever area of your home generally stays the coolest.

Six months is quite a long time. I'm typing this on a Thinkpad T410s which I haven't used in about 3 weeks. When I last shut off, the battery was at 41%, when I powered on today it was at 17%. If your battery self-discharges and gets too low the cells could be damaged.

I would charge the battery to full and then store it separately.

It should be charged 40-60% and left in a cool, but not cold, dry place.
