I8fangui states that my gpu is running at 47C while HW Monitor and GPU-Z state that it is running at 71C. Which temp is the right one? I know I8fangui is supposed to be 10C off but I'm getting a 23C difference.

Plus, I just had a dell technician replace my mobo. Aren't you supposed to reapply thermal grease when reseating the heatsink?

What Dell XPS are you using? I'm not sure if their latest models are even supported under that app.

HWMonitor is accurate (my HWMonitor and Everest are within 1-2degrees), but i8kfan is always wrong(50degC for GPU when its 70degC), and doesn't vary as much as HWMonitor reports(is always between 48 and 52, while HWMonitor shows range from 60-75)

Sorry, I have a M1330 with the 8400M GS. Ok, I was just making sure. The dell technician/subcontractor kept on insisting that the i8fangui temp was the accurate one and that there was no way my gpu was idling at 70C. Well anyways, isn't he suppose to reapply thermal grease when he put the heatsink back on? I asked him and he was clueless (plus he didn't have any on him).

All of the programs I use, NVMonitor and I8kgui both display the same temps.

If my GPU Idles at 70 I would be upset and trying to fix it.

yeah, that mobo replacement did nothing to relieve my gpu thermal issues.

This is why I didnt buy a M1330, one look at what they try to put in that little thing and I knew I wanted something bigger.

I love my M1530 more and more every day.

I thought the old i8kfan app only worked on the Inspiron 8xxx series?

Go to options, and then advanced tab
Set the gpu sensor index as 3 and the gpu offset as 10
Now, I8fan and HWmon will show the same temps always.

HW Monitor is reliable, matches exactly what rivatuner reads for GPU.
I8k tends to be skewy simply because you have to offset the temperature a bit yourself.
