    lol!! ^
    good stuff up there.
    And try these tips:

    1. overclock the cpu to as much as it can go
    2. download nvidia system tools 6.03 to overclock the GPU's
    3. download auslogics disk defrag
    4. download ccleaner

run those programs one by one, restart, and then disable as many unnecessary background processes as possible

tss, yeah. but with proper cooling, it should be fine. for a while i used nvidia system monitor from nvidia system tools 6.02 until when i installed 6.03 and it said opengl functionality not supported so then i couldnt monitor anything. now im using hwmonitor sadly, since it is not as good

    This should be good.

    I think I remember someone getting 15000+ on the M1730 owner's thread. That was with 3.4Ghz and a hugely overclocked 8800M GTX's.

Maybe run the PcMark with the laptop dipped in this.

It is achievable...3.4 Ghz CPU, 625/1550/925 GPUs...
And still safe, cause the fans are on max this way.
I bet XP can get 15k, with all the unnecesary apps disabled...

Nope, there is nothing like that unfortunately. I recommend just overclocking everything you can, exiting things in the taskbar, closing all programs, and disabling unnecessary processes in task manager. do this about 10 minutes after the computer is turned on and make sure the hard drive is not doing anything for at least 2 min.

That is a legend of an application!!!!!

It cut processes from 63 to 41, and vista's memory wastage from 1.2 gigs to only 900megs, Brilliant for benchmarks.

    Cheers

I don`t see why you guys worry so much.
Turning the CPU at 3.4 makes the fans run at max.
You`ll have even lower temps than the average user while OCed...

    Lol.
Seriousely, if I had the X9000 CPU, I`d OC it to 3.4 , OC the GPUs to 620/1550/920 and fire up 3dmark :)

Actually M1730's own cooling system is pretty sufficient to take care of all but the most reckless OC'ing.

@OP: Can we assume you burnt your laptop's MB by this stage with overtly reckless overclocking?

Yeah, maybe. I'm thinking he's fried his laptop by this stage TBH and hence the reason he's not posted up in a while :p

(Only kidding - that would suck if it had happened)
