I have an XPS 1530 for about a year and today, my power cord pretty much died. It is plugged into the wall, but the green light isn't on on the bar and it is making a high-pitched sound. It is not charging my battery and it is about to die. If I call the XPS support number, will they send me a free power cord?
Thanks
And if not, how much should I be spending on one?

Yes, definitely call Tech Support and advise what is happening, and ask if they will send you a replacement p.cord.
If they do, they will prolly have you send back your malfunctioning one.
I looked at Dell's site and they range from about $69.99 up.
What battery do you have the 6c or 9c?
Here is a link for some of the batt's: (from Dell Small Bus)

But, from doing a quick search on line..you can get them significantly cheaper than directly from Dell. You would want to make sure you bought one from reputable Store/Seller

Wow thank you so much for all the info and quick response
I greatly appreciate it! And I have a 6cell battery.

If they are going to send you one...the 3 prongs are nice.
They help w/preventing shocks, etc...(unless you already have the 3prong)
(My 6C is still going strong at nearly 1.5 years old)!!

They will send you one for free if you have warranty
If I call XPS Support would they give me a free power cord?
