    Hello :D

    About an hour ago I finally decided to take the hit in the wallet and order a M1710 from Dell Canada. Since then I have been checking reviews and benchmarks to confirm that I made the right decision, so far it looks good, but one thing on the Dell website that worries me is the tiny text under the customize options;

    "4 Download speeds are limited to 53 Kbps. Upload speeds are less (about 30Kbps). Speeds can vary by modem manufacturer and line conditions. Analog phone line and compatible service required."

    Does that mean no matter how fast my internet is I'm only going to get 53 Kbps?

    Ummm... It could be talking about the built in dial up modem, and saying its limited to 53kbps download speed and 30up. But the built in Ethernet will go much faster then that if you have DSL or cable etc. There is nothing to be worried about.
