Okay, this board is going to be my last resource. I alreadt talked to Dell tech support, and they could not answer anything. I am a little frustrated right now. I have Dell XPS M1530 with CCFL screen. I got Dell LED upgrade kit from Dell.

As you know that CCFL screen has built-in inverter, LED screen doesn't. I have no problem put in LED screen, but I have problem with the cable. Please look at the picture. There is 3 connections on the cable. I know the one with white label connected to the LED screen itself, and another end connect to its motherboard. Where do I connect the one with blue ribbon?

In CCFL screen, the blue part would have to connect to the inverter, but LED has no inverter. I can't find where the blue ribborn connection is supposed to.

    Thanks for your help.

This may not be the best answer, but what happens when you plug it all in ignoring the cable with the blue ribbon that is supposed to connect to the inverter that is not there?

So didn't the LED screen didn't come with a new cable? (I'm not sure if it's supposed to, just asking.)

That is the cable for LED. The P/N is N849D. If I ignored the blue ribbon, the screen would not power up. It will have just a black screen.

LED screen doesn't have inverter like CCFL. Should it has an inverter?

I have the same problem. Is there supposed to be a new inverter for the led screen? Does anyone know the p/n?

there is an inverter for the screen. got mine replaced. the inverter does not connect to the screen so it is just placed under the screen in the bezel. you should have gotten an inverter with the screen. call dell

Did your inverter come separate from the screen? If so, is there a part number on your paperwork? I bought a led lcd screen elsewhere, so it doesn't have this board with it. I called dell, and the rep can't seem to find that it is available separately.
    thanks,
    Bob

I am surprised the service manual is no help figuring out what you need and how to hook them up.
