I'm purchasing an XPS with an LED screen but, for whatever silly reason, Dell doesn't offer the LED screen with the red lid. I really want the red lid and the LED. If I purchase the LED screen can I simply purchase a red lid and install it or will there be differences? Thanks for the help! :D

You can go ahead and tap it off, sand it up nice, put on a base, and then paint it with some bright red paint :)
