    Hello,

I am having difficulty moving my windows 7 OS to my SSD. I installed my SSD in the secondary hard drive slot and left the original hard drive in place. I have been able to install windows on the ssd just fine and now it seems my laptop is in the dual boot state asking me which windows 7 I want to start each time I turn on my computer.

The main problem is when I try to install the drivers from dell, I get all types of errors saying the intel hd graphics card isnt present and half the drivers state that my hardware isnt present to install certain drivers. I have downloaded the latest ones from dell.com and have them on a flash drive.

I believe my problem may have come from leaving the original hard drive in when I did my windows install on the SSD. Also, when I press F2 and set my boot priority to the second hard drive slot, my computer just sits with a blinking curser in the upper left hand corner instead of starting windows.

My preference is to not have to remove anymore harddrives from my computer as I do not have any tools to do so at this time.

    Can anyone help me?? lol

    Thanks

Take the HDD out, put SSD in that bay and start over. When done place the HDD in de 2nd slot. Sorry but you need tools.

Thanks, I went and got tools and made the switch. That didn't fix the issue though.. I had a driver problem. It was something weird going on about installing the intel 3000 graphics card and the nvidea 555m. I had to completely uninstall the nvidea graphics card before I was able to install the drivers for the intel 3000 graphics card. Then I had to install the drivers for the nvidea card.

I am almost good to go. Now I have to figure out why my wireless drivers dont want to load

Yes, you have to install the INTEL graphics BEFORE the Nvidia, otherwise you have problems with the Optimus drivers. But you found that out it seems :D

Might want to try installing the wireless before the Nvidia graphics too, I've never had an issue with the Dell drivers by doing wireless before Nvidia GPU. Might be an issue with the wireless display portion of the wireless driver getting messed up by the Nvidia graphics.

Thanks. I have everything figured out now, except that my screen will flicker from time to time. Maybe every 20-40 seconds or so. Any idea on what may be the cause? I have a dell xps1702 without 3d screen.
