I'm about to install a new hard drive on my 1330 and was wondering how many of you have opted to NOT go the Media Direct partitioning route and just go straight to the Vista installation disc that came with your 1330.

I've researched these forums and some people say that not partitioning for Media Direct will cause the button on the laptop to kill your OS, while others say its completely fine. Which scenario seems to be the most common?

I deleted the MD partitions. When I press the MD button when my m1330 is off, it displays the Media Direct splash screen, but then it boots my OS.
