I have a dual band router, D-Link DIR-825. It broadcasts two signals, one at 2.4 GHz and the other at 5 GHz.

My laptop has the Intel 5300 AGN wifi card. It claims to be dual band, but I'm guessing that means that it can connect to 2.4 OR 5, yes? But not both at the same time, right?

Sounds like it would be nice to have a 2-in-1 wifi card that could connect to both signals from the router.

    Or am I dreaming?

Right. Not both at once. Download intel wifi proset software and you can pick up on one, and share on the other (for instance my zune cant connect to the enterprise encryption at work, so it connects to my lappy instead).. But not connect to router on 2 at once.
