Is there anyway to make videos look better when using the Integrated graphics? When using the Nvidia card videos look much better but can the Intel HD get better video quality too?

If you're using Intel's ClearVideo, open your Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel in Advanced Mode. Under Media, change your Image Enhancement settings. Make sure you have DXVA playback enabled.

How in particular does the video on Intel graphics look worse than when using the Nvidia graphics?

Just mess with the advanced settings in the intel settings manager.

Yes I can do that with a tweak but that is not the problem, I just want to know if I can get better video quality with the Intel HD.

Maybe try change video renderer in VLC to OpenGL.

You're trying to break your Intel playback when you should be trying to fix your NVIDIA playback. TV <-> PC levels aren't being handled properly so your NVIDIA video is very washed out with greyish blacks and whites.
