Not sure if there's another thread with this in, so apologies in advance if this has been answered before.
wondering if anyone on the forum has issues with this 1030 on wireless N, my problem is related to the l702x but there are other threads online that relate to various other dell (and other manufacturer) notebooks
the issue is a strange one, and my first thoughts are it's driver related... basically with stock intel proset wireless/bluetooth drivers (that came with the l702x) when connecting to wireless N on my virgin media superhub (50mb) download speeds would be appaulingly slow, averaging at about 3mb. With wireless N mode turned off it would cap out at 20mb...
when I turned off the bluetooth device in device manager it would work flawlessly, 50mb solid. Unfortunatly, now I've updated all the drivers to the latest on the dell website the speeds have dropped again and it doesn't matter whether I have bluetooth turned on or off - infact it actually seems a little faster with the bluetooth device turned on now![]()
I have the latest dell drivers, I've checked that the settings for the 1030N card have it at max power etc I'm just at a bit of a loss now. I'm NOT sending this laptop back for an issue that's likely not hardware related simply because I've added hard drives, new screen and a blu ray drive that I cba to remove before an engineer takes the thing apart... at the very worst I'll just turn off N mode and have it running at 20meg, 90% of the time I'm connected at a static point in the house via ethernet anyway. Anyone have any ideas or share a similar experience with the 1030N (or any of the other intel wireless cards) on the virgin media 50mb hub? Cheers

Sounds similar to the problems a lot of people have with the 6230 card. Apparently it is a conflict on the 2.4GHz band between the wireless and the Bluetooth. Those running the 6230 on 5GHz have no problems. Obviously this does not do anything for you with the 1030, honestly I've seen fewer reports of trouble with that card than the 6230. Me, I have run on both frequencies fine with Bluetooth on but don't have Bluetooth devices I use.
