I'm not sure if you've typed your proc correctly, most probably you're talking about T6400, but in any event, it should support 64-bit systems like Win7 64-bit. Check it out:

What really matters is your motherboard, which might not support 64-bit systems. Check the name of your mb and then google it specifications to see if it supports 64-bit. -
The last time I checked, the Core Duo series supports 64bit, Dell support is wrong, the question is: are they truly clueless or they try to avoid the change for whatever reason?
-
Your motherboard should be able to handle the 64-bit windows. I would think your motherboard is the same as in the other systems that have a bigger cpu infact my inspiron 1440 with a T4400 cpu @2.0Ghz is getting a 64-bit cpu. The dell site offers only 64-bit systems with 4GB or more even on their smallest cpu available. Dell told me that 8Gigs of Ram cannot work in my system when they offer 8 when ordering. They have no clue most of the time about their own system

yep they where spinning me a yarn !
Phoned them back to check and they appologised !
Anyway - I was trying to change my Win7 order from 32bit to 64bit which isnt possible yet for 15 days. I have to wait until tech support are able to order 64bit version which wont be for 15 days.
Crazy -
I have to wait another 5 days?! here I thought that my windows 7 upgrade which I ordered yesturday would be shipped out soon. Man, now I am a little upset lol
