I always suggest a clean install with any Dell product. Always helps it run a little better :)

And no, it won't void any warranties

I think you'll be just as better off going through and eliminating the bloatware right now, since we will all be upgrading to Win 7, right? Unless you have the time to hunt down the stray random drivers to get everything to work again.

Doing a clean install is a always, a good thing...you get rid of the *extra bloatware* Dell leaves on your lappy, and tweak to the way you want it to make it yours.

It never voids the warranty, ever.

You can follow the guide here to do the clean install, if you like, also.
(Yes, it has MDirect instructions, but that's ok). ;)

A clean install is a must in my opinion. I had a few issues that were completely resolved with just a clean install with my original SXPS 16. Like stated above, your warranty will be intact so there are no worries there. There really isn't much bloatware on this computer so getting rid of that isn't really going to help much. The drivers are a piece of cake to find, so getting them isn't an issue either. I was not able to play Source based games for one, before reformatting. After I formatted I had zero issues. I couldn't even begin to tell you what was causing the issue, but a clean install fixed it.
