Is it easy to wipe the OS and reinstall fresh without their bloatware?

So I might buy an XPS m1530, but here's my question. I have a few XP discs sitting around, and I'd obviously want to reinstall because dell's bloatware sucks the big one. Do these computers come with easy to use driver CD's that would make a reinstall easy to do while retaining all the original functionality? Will I have to download anything?

The M1530 doesnt have XP drivers.
However, there is a driver pack floating around on the forums.

Yes it comes with a Vista reinstall disc and you can do a fresh clean install with it (the serial comes on the bottom of the laptop). It comes with all the drivers on CDs inside of a nice leather case. Also you can find all the drivers on Dells website:

It's highly advised you download everything and put them on a USB stick or CD. 90% of the time, drivers are usually outdated on a driver disc provided by the manufacturer. Acquiring them either from their website or from the product manufacturer is the best way to go.

You can just download the drivers after you do the reinstall of Windows too. Unless you have a good reason I'd stick with Vista.

You say it has the serial for vista on the bottom... so if I borrowed a friends vista install disc, I could do a fresh install with my unique serial number? Or would I have to somehow acquire an OEM disc

just use any Vista installation disc... input ur serial from the bottom fo laptop, vista installtion will determine what to install.... though u might have trouble activating over the internet... might have to do by phone[mine activated fine over the internet on a friend's x64 vista disc]

OK. Well the reason I'd rather have XP is because this is a laptop, and I'd like to squeeze all the performance I can get out of it.

Clean install is VERY easy, provided you prepare and have everything ready as SCiFiMike mentioned.

Well, looking at the dell drivers site, I'm not even sure where to begin. For the xps m1530 they list like 30 drivers. Which ones are the required ones??? They don't make it at all obvious. Looks like some of it is just their bloatware conveniently located so you can redownload it
