Is it normal for the little white light next to the webcam to be flashing every 10 seconds?

I have the xps16 and the little white light flashes for a brief moment every ten seconds or so. It is very distracting. Is that normal? Is there a way to make it stop doing that? I would really appreciate it.

i think i may have fixed it,,, i think it had something to do with the facial recognition. I opened up dell webccam central and when I just it, it said something about face recognition and the blinking stopped.

There's a white light on the webcam for the XPS 16 when it's in use? I wish my XPS 13 had that...I never know if the webcam is on or not.

has to do with fast access login, usually when the facial recognition is bypassed with a password before the camera gets a chance to power on. sometimes it even results in loads of photos being taken and posted in the fast access logs folder. dont worry, no one is spying on you, but the blinking can be easily corrected by hitting start key + L, then logging back in.

Does anyone else get colored bars in the facial recognition box when you first turn on the laptop for about 10 seconds? It kinda makes the feature useless if you have to wait for the picture to show up.
