On the XPS 15 9550, the white bar light below the touchpad edge, lights up only when the unit is being charged. I'd like to figure out if it's possible to instead make that light come on and stay on when the unit it powered on/in-use. Not only do I like the look that light gives to the entire deck, I also would like for it to be on as a visual indicator that the unit is awake/on. I recall many months ago my system got stuck when I thought it had powered off as I had shut it down. Lucky for me it was just sitting on my desk. 2-hours later the fans were blazing as the unit was still on. I often power off my unit and then wait for it to be completely shut down before closing the lid.
