So I have read many news about xps 2018 is carrying a power button with fingerprint built in. Is it possible to replace this new power button to my xps 2017?

The new button scanner is a cool idea. The old solution was a bit awkward.

This new scanner is likely using a newer generation of hardware and firmware. Also, I would expect the motherboard connectors were updated.

So I think buying a new button and trying to tack a few wires to your old motherboard would not work (if the power button fits you could get the on-off function to work easily enough but not the scanning function).
