When you are traveling, and wanna game, or do something that heats up the laptop, you think the Antec Notebook Cooler to go will help at all? Or can you guys suggest any other good portable cooler?
    Thanks!

I have the Zalman too. But I mean it's 3 lbs and huge. Not exactly portable.

Does having the 9-cell not cool it enough or make enough temp diff than using a 6-cell? I personally hate having to use a laptop cooler.

The 9-cell raises the laptop well enough to allow a healthy air-flow and can offer a substantial drop in temperatures. A proper notebook cooler has the potential to not only drop temperatures but to prolong the life of your machine. It's not a necessity, but it's a nice addition.

For reference, I have a 9-cell but do not have a notebook cooler... yet.

bassflow, I just looked at the cooler you mentioned and due to the construction I dont think it will work on the sxps 16 at all.

It draws air in from the back of the notebook and pumps it underneath. As the exhaust for the sxps is at the rear it will just be dragging your hot air back into the system.

you dont need any expensive laptop cooler. IF you badly want(need) any cooling, just buy a small table-fan (usb-connected or ordinary) and point it below your SXPS when gaming....voila !

works splendid :) (and cost 1/10 of money)

Ehm... So if I get this right you buy a 1700$ high quality great looking DESIGN-laptop, and you destroy the good looks of it by slapping a 2-dollar fan on it... Not my preferred solution! No pun intended btw...

first of all i dont need any cooler, fan or whatever.

my SXPS doesn't gets very hot during games. (mostly because i have a 9-cell battery and P CPU) :)

edit.....and IF i needed a cooler to my SXPS, i would easily buy a small, cheap USB-Fan who nicely sits behind the PC)

    example....
this type of fan is plenty enough and cost way less :) (its quite beautiful as well).
just use it when you starting your never-ending-hardcore-Battlefield.2142-weekend....he he

Well, What I meant to say was that part of the charm of this machine is the looks. It looks great because of a beautiful besign. All the beauty of the machine will be reduced to when you slap a fan as displayed above on it...

Kind of like having a Ferrari... and tugging a caravan with it...

Ok, thanks guys, also I'd rather not pay $180 for a 9 cell. Can you guys recommend any other good portable laptop cooler?

As I type this I am using the Antec Cooler on my SXPS16. Its a little small but it supports the laptop. Its really meant for 15 inch notebooks but I guess one could make due. As far as actually cooling. It does a pretty good job. The palm rest areas are noticeably cooler. But what I like most about it is that it can be easily and comfortably put on your lap. Its also pretty cheap.

Yes it does work and keeps it cooler than just propping up the back without any active cooling. It is a good solution for when on the go as it is small and packs well, why it has it's name. I ended up getting a Zalman NC2000 for my dining room table where my 1640 mostly lives at offers a more stable and sturdy platform. My Cooler To Go now is used for just that, to go.
