Okay here's the deal since my college doesn't have wifi, I would like to install a internal cdma/wimax ... EVDO Rev A. yadayada and would like to use Clear 4g network ...and since Intel card's are incompatible with the Studio XPS 1340 I have no choice but to use this ... don't like the usb modems

    So my questions are:

Is the Dell 5720/5730 cards compatible with the 1340
If so, would I need to install extra antennas
Would I be able to use Clear's 4g network ?

yes the dell 5720/5730 will work fine in the sxps 1340.. antennas are already installed.

but no.. it will not work with clear 4g.. these cards are just evdo A.. looks like clear's 4g is wimax

    so for wimax...

the Intel® WIMAX-WiFI Link 5150 is what you need..

althought it is full height instead of half like the existing wifi in the 1340... however.. you maybe be able to put this full height minipcie card in the bluetooth pcie slot, or possibly the wwan slot. either of which (if they work), will require you to use the existing wifi antennas..

good luck, let us know how it goes

But isn't that wifi card incompatible with the nforce 730i

Is there another non intel card that has the same function

hmm, where did you read its incomptible? the only thing is that is full size instead of half size, like our wifi cards should be..

although I'm sure it would work in the bt's pcie minicard slot.

So lets say I buy a 5150 and stick it in the bluetooth slot ... I wont have any hardware and drivers issues because it's a Nvidia mobo

and what about my bt card ... would I be able to stick it someplace else ?
