I have been experiencing the problem where, after opening the lid of my xps m1530, the touchpad is not responsive for 30 seconds to a minute or so. The cursor twitches around but will not move where I want it. I have read a few posts on the matter here but the last post was back in 08, is there any new news on this issue? I have tried the recommendation on youtube to move your finger from the top corner down to the opposite bottom corner but this does not correct the issue for me.

I am running Vista x64 with BIOS A12

Perhaps try uninstalling the touchpad and then after a reboot, reinstall the drivers from Dell. I have never experienced this problem myself but can understand its very annoying.
