    Hi bought a second hand M1710 of ebay think I got a good deal

    £433 M1710 7900 GTX 2.16Ghz 2Gb Ram

    Any way is there a code or something I can ask for which I can use on the dell site to find out when it was made etc ?

    Yes, just plug in the Configuration Number or Service Tag on the Warranty page of the website.

    The service tag might not do it, but there should be a 12-digit or so number next to it.

    On the bottom of the system there should be a label showing the Dell Service Tag. Use this link and where XXXXXXX is, add the service tag.
