Hi I sold a dell Laptop on ebay and it still has 1.5yrs warranty left of it.

Question is buyer is asking for proof of warranty.

Do I have to do a transfer of ownership on Dell site and would the warranty be passed unto them?.
    OR
Would they have to go via me to process any warranty stuff?

    cheers

I believe the warranty is transferrable. IIRC, I think I read something about it on Dell's web site.

you can either transfer the warranty or if the new owner has all your info can transfer it themselves.

Dell USA also offers a easy transfer if your online with the laptop and it can detect the service code and express service code from the laptop.

As a seller i often did the transfer to the new owner myself to help make it easier for all
