Headphones sound perfect w/o any software to me. But then again I have a nice pair of headphones.. And the SRS fx just add more distortion to the speakers and contribute to more rattle which is why I disable them. These speakers dont sound good regardless, I've come to accept that and hardly use them for music anymore. But still I'd rather have less distortion.

Currently, on a fresh OS install, I have to reinstall the audio drivers (Windows 7 default or IDT 6255, this happens with both) every time I restart the computer. The sound functions flawlessly after that, but it's a pretty irritating process to have to go through every time I start up.
