So as the title entitles lol, I am in need of a lappy for school and I always wanted a 1340 but brand new ($1,200) is out of my price range until April so I had to settle for a lil less, so was it a good buy or was I jacked ?

    warranty expires 5/6/10

Well, can you tell me what your normal usage will be? Also, i want to let you know that this laptop that you chose has no bluetooth, lowest screen (not wled screen), and lowest graphic card. The good thing about it is that it has W7 ultimate but i don't think that will benefit you too much for a student

other than homework and web browsing ... nothing much, downloading music and watching movies ... no gaming, but not having the led screen is kind of a let down ... could I buy one on ebay ? and install it my self ?

And about the bluetooth, it was listed having it in the title, but not in the specs she posted so I contacted her about it

I'll leave the light gaming to the i7 1645 rig in Feb.

I don't think its a good deal, Dell.com has 20% off from Bing Cash Back right now. Your specs are pretty low end for it, you probably could have gotten away with more leeway customizing the exact feature you want and better specs overall and be within 100 bucks of the price you paid on ebay.

With that said, I think its not a bad price either for the specs you got. It is a nice machine, and dell warranty is really good. I had a XPS M1330 back in school and it was very good. Best of luck in school.

Base on your usage, this laptop will work very well for you. If you want the WLED screen then you have to buy it on ebay around $180. You can install it yourself but if you laptop has a problem then you need to change back to the old one if you are going to use your warranty.

I'd expect to pay $650 CAD for this laptop. The specs are very low compared to what's offered today. With a P8600 and GeForce 9400m, it's not the "par" for this laptop.

Yeah, i got mine from the outlet with substantial savings (specs in sig). My laptop was about $100 more than yours, w/ LED, SSD, and slightly better CPU

I guess the only thing that's worthwhile for $725 is Win7 Ultimate..

Thanks for the input guys, I'm not too disappointed in the specs, it does has the bluetooth module in it and I will be self installing a wled screen in a couple of weeks, again I'm only using this for homework and web browsing so it's not that bad

I'm waiting on income tax, I am planning on dropping 2 grand on a 1645 so I probably end up selling this one for a quick buck or .... probably just keep it idk lol

Edit ... I still have some time until the money clears, if someone see a better deal at the oulet, with a nice coupon ... I'm open ears

If you're just using it for HW and Internet do you really need a 1645? Why not 1640? The i7 in the 1645 is WAYYYY overkill for your needs, unless your "homework" is encoding video while Photoshopping while doing CAD design while playing Crysis on max at the same time. And if it is, be sure to buy a cooler.

Im guessing it is used for a couple of months looking by the warranty date.
I cant say you got jacked, or that you found a bargain aswell because the system you got is a standard bestbuy configuration.... (the one that was listen on Best Buy for 6 months) I bought the same config from best buy for $899 but it was NEW! and same standard warranty for 1 year, and onsite tech support for 1 year!

So uou judge for yourself... If the computer works fine and is in good cosmetic condition then you bought a great laptop!
