Major specs are in sig but I got it off ebay for $1,198.98 plus $95 bing cash back

    What you guys think..

I will be using this laptop for watching and making HD movies, homework, other stupid stuff but I will hardly be using this for gaming.. so throttling should be that much of a issue... right

and not to worried about heat.. since I have a 1340 :D so I know what to expect, I also got some artic silver and a couple copper pieces should it get out of hand

Nice :) Very nice....You will love the RGBLED.

I don't think you will have to worry about the throttling with the 1647, I have it w/out issues (haven't really looked for any though, either). ;)

You know what your doing, so no worries there!

You expect it w/in a few days? :D

    Unfortunately no..

Lost my wallet along with my credit cards so I had to use my checking account to buy it thru paypal... takes a week to process but I can wait

Thinking bout buying a bluray disc player for it, to be honest their were many good 1647 deals without the RGB screen for almost the same price I paid but this 1 had the better warranty ... Complete care till 4/2012 :D

Really wanted this one... that red is nice ,but really wanted a white one

And question... If I ask for it.. will dell send me a 130 watt charger?

Tell them your 90watt adapter is overheating and they'll send you one for nothing! Worked for me a couple of weeks ago. And not like I was taking advantage of Dell but that 90w adapter gets toasty warm.

Congrats on the new laptop, and sounds like you won't need to worry about the throttling at all (like plenty of other happy 1647 users!) :)

Thanks... So if I am correct, unlike the 1640 and 1645's.. the 1647 don't really suffer from throttling

I still gonna do a fresh install, update bios and drivers... and run some test to see if it does, when I get a 130 watt charger.. ima grab my volt meter and tap into my of my outlets to see how much power this B**** draws

I been following the throttle thread and it's kinda corny what happening to the machines... wanna contribute my part into helping :D
