    Hi Guys,

I really like this new computer! I thought it looked a lot thicker in the pictures but its actually a perfect size and yet still very powerful :)

1 Thing I want to do right now is install another OS for fun. But my Dell didn't come with the Windows 7 DVD. I just called them asking for the DVD but the Indian guy kept asking me repeatedly, "what's the problem exactly?" after I said "can I get the windows 7 DVD" in many different ways.

Anyway if I can't thats cool, I'll just make an image/backup (before I format my HDD). I just find it surprizing that we don't get the OS cd that we paid for in the box.

With Dell you are specifically asked if you want Windows 7 on DVD. If you did not receive it, it means you declined to order it with your order.

The cost was about $2, If you did not request the disc when you ordered, Why should you be entitled to a disc you refused to order?

I was surprised that they're now selling the DVD's separately too. Two years ago when I got my Studio 17, it came with a Windows Vista re-installation disc at no extra charge.

Having to pay $15 for something that should be free is insane, imo. $2 would have been a MUCH more reasonable price if they're going to INSIST on charging for a reinstallation disc (which again, should be free)!

I was even more surprised to not see a drivers CD, atleast. Granted, it's all found online now but it's always nice to have a disc for safe measure. Grr.

Was it free? If so, I'm definitely giving them a call... I really do hate how they bloat the system with a bunch of useless fluff.

I am from India, Windows 7 DVD is part of the package by default here. It is free, or you can download windows 7 online and use the windows registration key stuck under the lappy :D

I am surprised that reinstallation disc is being sold, it should be part of the package, and I second your opinion on driver's cd, it is always nice to have a drivers cd :D which again is part of the package here, I guess dell changes its packaging components for different locations
