Recently heard about the faulty 8400's chips on several laptops including the M1330 so I decided to run ATI tool and benchmark to check temps on my 8400m GS w/ latest drivers in addition I used HWMonitor and temps went up as high as 100 Celsius and didnt wish to continue the testwhich now renders my laptop useless for gaming. dont waste money on a laptop cooler. imo, it's a waste. if I have a laptop to carry around, i dont want to take a laptop cooler with it. -
How exactly do I check temps? My laptop seems to be running a little hot compared to other laptops I used. Don't know if its normal.

3DMark06... get the free version and run it(takes some time, and it stresses the GPU/CPU).... then check the peak temperature at HWMonitor...
my 8400 peaks at 104 if i play crysis(all settings low) for an extended period of time (i already wedge the back of the laptop up using some clips) -
