After much indecision i finally plumped for an XPS M1530 because i was really impressed with the quality and specs, the overall package was really appealing.

Its much different to my old Packard Bell, much much faster and much better built and using premium materials instead of using cheap plastic like in the packard bell

Im also still trying to get to grips with Vista lol :D

Only thing im having a problem with on the M1530 is that i cant get the fingerprint scanner working, could someone advise me on how to activate this

    Cheers
    Azza :D :D

there should be an icon on the desktop which reads "fingerprint reader suite" run that, and then scan your fingerprints in.

If you did a clean install, you may have to reinstall the software. However, if you go to Start --> All Programs --> Finger Print Reader Suite --> New User Enrollment, you should be able to register your fingers. Once you have done this, restart your computer, and at the logon screen you will see a new finger print button. You can just click that and swipe your fingerprint from then on.

Congrats on your new purchase and I hope you really enjoy it.

yes i agree if you debloated which i highly recommend you need to install the "touch strip" app on the drivers disc or dell's website. i would also recomend the biometric device when registering your fingerprint so if you do reformat in the future you dont have to re-register your fingerprints.
