Just bought the XPS 9360 i7 8550u for $949 brand new at Dell.com. I was wondering if it was it a good choice over the newer XPS 9370?

I prefer it to the 9370. it seems 9370 has gone down the dark path apple paved with its hardware. Absence of any standard USB port and soldered on wifi chip (many especially hackintoshers dont want the stock card.) They have done some cool revisions like the 2 in 1 fingerprint power button, 2 full speed thunderbolt ports, and the 4x microphone array, but its still the same processor and graphics. It seems like a too eager minor revision. I have yet to see anything that compelling about it.

Thanks for replying back! Honestly I was a bit skeptical about the one fan on the 9360; which I had a lot of throttling issues on my Surface Pro 3.. Hoping once I receive it this Monday I'll be able to test it out.
Ohh that soldered wifi chip is a big no no for me... Since I will work on Linux most of the time, I would like something that actually works with Linux distros. Thanks for the help!

8th gen 9360 is only 2 Lane unfortunately. But you could still get away with an eGPU, but it has to be connected to a monitor. Using the internal monitor will have reduced performance.
