I just received my replacement due to some cosmetic flaws which this one also has, but I noticed the new one has the lg screen and the first one has the AUO screen, which one is better? My first system also came with a staples coupon book with $350 in coupons but they were all expired before I even received my system, I called dell today and they said the best they could do to resolve the issue is to give me a $100 coupon towards my next dell purchase, do you think I let them off to easy? What else should I look for when comparing the 2 or should I just send them both back? I`m still within my 21 days.

The LG screen is very nice from what I hear - the LG is probably better.

To the second question - sounds like you let them off easy.

I'd be looking for some sort of compensation for all the hassle to start with, them giving you a coupon actually means their getting more money out of you not helping you as you have to spend more to get that $100 back?

The LG panel is supposed to be one of the best, maybe call another customer services rep and see if they have anything else to say?

Thats what I was thinking but calling them is a nightmare so I will let it be. When I get home I will compare the 2 machines and see which is better.

Hey the LG screen is an excellent screen that is what I have..it's fantastic..no flaws whatsover...so you may want to keep that ;) Up to you though. ;)

And, yes..if I were you..call back Dell and tell them you would prefer the original coupons, etc. that you received..or perhaps, more $$ in way of a $100 towards your next purchase.

You are within your 21 days ~ from when the original was shipped, right?

You have to look a both lappys and decide which one works. There is another thread similiar let me find it! ;)

Here, check this thread out...it may be helfpul for you ~ with dealing with 2 1530's..which one to keep ~ and what to look at:

Thanks Cin, I`ll check it out, the new one has less cosmetic flaws but when the screen is closed there is a bigger gap on the left than on the right, is this normal?

imo in a single lamp ccfl screen the lg is probably better than the auo overall but the auo usually have a bit more accurate color but are a lot less bright.. so its kinda personal as to which lcd you like better. the lg dell use's on the 1730 sucks bad . so its all a personal thing turn both on side by side and see which you like better, also the screens are very easy to swap if need be.. lol

go to device manager > monitors > generic pnp monitor > right click > properties > details > hardware id

And then compare it with the sticky thread in the Dell XPS forum...
