I recieved my M1530 on Monday and I'm loving it. The screen in particular is fantastic and I was very pleasantly suprised when powering it up for the first time, especially after seeing all the posts about poor quality screens.
I checked the part number and found it to be an LG (Hardware ID LPLDF00)![]()
This afternoon I took it into the garden, as we had the first bit of sunshine in weeks, to see how it fared. I was expecting the same as my 2 year old inspiron where the sunlight floods the screen and you cant see anything but I was wrong. It stayed really bright and clear and I think I could quite happily sit out and work for hours in the sun.
I was really under the impression that CCFL screens dont/cant perform like this in the sun. I'm I right in saying that the part number I have doesn't correspond to the WLED screen? Dell dont offer WLED as an option for the 1530 here in the UK. Also, my parents just got a studio 15 a couple of weeks ago with 1280x800 screen and its not anywhere near as bright as this one (they use theirs with a large window behind them)

if you have it then why ask? I also have it and i think it's very good. actually, i hooked it up to my HDTV (42" Toshiba) and i noticed the blacks on this do not fare well compared to the TV.. Argh. Now I really want to tweak with the computers color settings.

Compared to my Inspiron - which has 1920x1200 I would have believed anyone if they told me my XPS has the WLED installed - it really is that nice to look at.
I consider myself very lucky as I was getting rather worried about poor screen quality leading up to my delivery date. -
I have this screen and find it *utterly fantastic*. The screen is full of *clarity*, and I just love having it! I have no complaints..just praises
And, I am outdoors alot with my lappy and the visuals are great
