@URPradhan - Nah I wouldn't justify that much. Maybe if you included the i7 620, RGBLED and an SSD.

@pittsgutta - Congrats on the purchase, I hope it's worth the wait. You got a decent deal, especially with those 4 blu rays ;) were they a deal breaker?
And the white is gorgeous! Enjoy :)

kezuk12 the hardest decision was the color, lol. My 1640 was Black w/ Leather. I was only hesistant with the white because being afraid it would fade over time. I really wanted white though. When I bought my old XPS 1530, a month later the white came out and I was pissed! I bought a skin-it to try and resemble it,lol. Then, when I bought my 1640 white wasn't offered and a few months later white came out!!!!! So I couldnt let the leather stop me! How good does it really look bro?

haha, I know what you mean. unpredictable things. The day I bought my XPS 1640, I was thinking, "wouldn't it be kewl if they sold it in glossy white?"...and like a couple of months later, the White came out HAHA >< I successfully convinced Dell of some of my screen defects, so they are coming over for replacment. Unfortunately they can't switch colors for me, and they also never had White 720p screen in the first place =/

Well after looking at about a million pictures of the white I finally took the plunge thinking it looked gorgeous, but my expectations were exceeded when I unboxed! It's really something special! I couldn't get over how good the leather felt for a while :D
I won't touch the leather now unless my hands are super clean, I just don't want it to fade at all. 2 months in and so far so good!

I would have held out for the ATI HD5xxx to come out on the 1647, that or get the 1645. i7 + HD 5730 is a better system. I've used both the 1645 and 1647 and the 1645 can handle demanding tasks a lot better especially with the SSD. That machine to me is not worth $1400.

the 3 year service w/ CC is $398 without discounts. It's worth it to me. I had a screen replacement on my 1640 (RBG LED) and it would have cost me about $800. You are in idiot if you don't get atleast 2 Years w/ CC.

Ahh ok... Than I'd say you got a good deal. My earlier comment did not take that $398 into consideration!
