    I just received my 1645...

    i7 820
    8 Gigs Ram
    128 Gig Solid State
    RGB...

Anyway...when I took it out of the box, it has a fairly large, very noticeable black scratch on the LCD. Has anybody else experienced this? I've called dell and they are sending a tech out to replace it. Question:

I often lay flat on my bed with the laptop on my chest. I find the 'bulge' in the 9-cell to be annoying. Can I order a 6 cell? If so, is it flat?

The 9 cell is shaped like that so that you have adequate air flow. I'm sure you can use the 6 cell if you don't care about battery life.

Yes, 6-cell fits inside the laptop completely.

The same happened with my m1530, i ordered the 9cell, but didnt like how it sticked out and added bulk, so i bought a 6 cell battery, and i was like "Woah!! is my computer really THAT thin ?.."

so yeah if battery life is not problem the 6 cell battery fits as if it was actually part of the laptop :D
